Our Team
Dr. Andrew John Scherrer
Owner/Founder and Veterinarian
Hello, I’m Dr. Andrew, and I’m glad you’ve taken the time to get to know me, my clinic, and my team members a little better. I was born and raised here in Mansfield, Ohio, and have always been passionate about this area, and what it has to offer. I attended THE Ohio State University where I obtained a B.S. in Zoology with a minor in British literature. I stayed with OSU for my veterinary education as well, graduating in 2016 with my doctorate. It was during my clinical year that I developed a love for veterinary oncology, and what it does to help pet owners get more time with their best friends, and also help to alleviate so much pain and discomfort in patients. Following graduation, I worked in general practice for eight years before my passion led me to found NCOVCC. When I’m not working, you might find me at the gym, out on a hiking trail, or trying new baking recipes in the kitchen. . . but you’ll more than likely find me in my garden as that has become a mild obsession for me as of late. I look forward to getting to know you and your pets better in the near future.
Kristen Alexander: Animal Care Specialist
I have been passionate about animal health and welfare for the past thirteen years of my life, but my love for animals can be traced even farther back than that. Dogs, cats, wild animals that were injured or abandoned, farm animals - nothing was ever off limits. I have never met an animal who was a stranger. I’ve never met one who I didn’t love like they were an extension of myself, and I look forward to sharing that passion with the animals I’m lucky enough to work with here at North Central Ohio Veterinary Cancer Center.
During my free time, travelling is probably my favorite hobby. I’ve visited three of the seven continents so far and hope to visit all seven someday. My husband and I have been blessed with a three-year-old son named Sawyer. He is my whole world, and already I’m beginning to see the same love for animals in his eyes that I recognized in my own.
